Membership & Dues
Bahama Shoes is one of St. Petersburg's finest neighborhoods, dating back to the 1920s. We pride ourselves on our distinctive look including our unique architecture, brick-paved 60th Avenue main entrance, many shade trees, and our neighborhood jewel Dolphin Park at the end of 58th Avenue. We have an active Neighborhood Association and we encourage you to volunteer. We need you!
Neighborhood Association dues are $95 per year. This supports our neighborhood activities like the Spring and Fall picnic and upkeep and insurance on Dolphin Park. The neighborhood association is also responsible for maintenance of the 4th Street Gardens. This includes mowing and care for the crepe myrtle, queen palm trees and hedges along 4th Street between Bahama Shores Drive and 56th Avenue. We encourage additional donations to help fund Dolphin Park improvements and a new sea wall.
Becoming a Bahama Shores member means more than just paying dues — it’s about being part of something special. Membership gives you a voice in the decisions that shape our neighborhood and helps preserve the beauty, safety, and spirit that make this place home. When you join, you’re not just maintaining our parks and gardens — you’re investing in connection, belonging, and the shared future of Bahama Shores.

Why your dues matter
- Care for our shared spaces: Maintain Dolphin Park — our privately owned waterfront park — plus the 4th Street gardens and other neighborhood plantings.
- Cover essentials: Insurance, utilities (water/electric/irrigation), landscaping, routine upkeep, and post‑storm cleanups and repairs.
- Protect our future: Build reserves for major projects like the seawall replacement (estimated $50,000+; expected to last 50+ years).
- Strengthen community life: Help fund picnics, plant exchanges, and free/low‑cost events that bring neighbors together.
- Preserve home value: A well‑maintained, active neighborhood benefits every household.
This year’s dues and giving options
- Annual membership (baseline): $95 per household.
- Additional contributions: Graciously accepted to support ongoing maintenance of Dolphin Park and the 4th Street gardens.
- Seawall Fund: We’re launching a dedicated Seawall Fund now to prepare for a full replacement within 5–10 years.
- Goal: $50,000. Early gifts make a big difference and reduce future pressure on dues.
Every household is an owner in our shared neighborhood assets — especially Dolphin Park. Your contribution directly supports the place you call home today, and the Seawall Fund protects it for the next generation. Thank you for investing in Bahama Shores!
